وزیراعلیٰ پنجاب مریم نواز شریف کا کہنا ہے کہ ہم نے آج سے صوبے میں پلاسٹک کے استعمال، پروڈکشن، فروخت اور تجارت پر پابندی عائد کر دی ہے۔ ماحولیاتی تحفظ کے عالمی دن کے موقع پر وزیراعلیٰ پنجاب مریم نوازشریف نے اپنے پیغام میں کہا کہ ماحولیاتی آلودگی پاکستان سمیت دنیا بھر کے لیے چیلنج ہے۔ اقوام عالم کو مل کر قدرتی ماحول پر اثرانداز ہونے والے عوامل پر قابو پانا ہوگا۔ لہٰذا عوام کرہ ارض کی حفاظت کے مشن میں ہمارا ساتھ دیں۔
وزیراعلیٰ پنجاب نے کہا کہ پلاسٹک کے استعمال سے ماحول اور انسانی صحت پر مضر اثرات مرتب ہو رہے ہیں۔ ’’’نو ٹو پلاسٹک‘‘ مہم کا مقصد ماحولیاتی آلودگی کو کم کرنا اور ماحول دوست اقدامات کا فروغ ہے۔ پلاسٹک پر پابندی کی پالیسی کو سختی سے نافذ کیا جائے گا۔
مریم نواز شریف نے کہا کہ ہوٹلوں، ریستورانوں اور کھانے پینے کی جگہوں پر پلاسٹک کے تھیلوں کے استعمال پر پابندی ہوگی۔ پلاسٹک بیگ کی جگہ ماحول دوست متبادل جیسے کاٹن بیگ کو استعمال میں لایا جائے۔ پلاسٹک کی آلودگی کے مضر اثرات سے عوام کو آگاہ کرنے کے لیے خصوصی آگاہی مہم کا آغاز کر رہے ہیں۔
انہوں نے کہا کہ فوسل فیول کے استعمال میں کمی اور قابل تجدید توانائی پر انحصار بڑھانا ہوگا۔ ماحولیاتی آلودگی میں تیزی سے اضافے کی ایک بڑی وجہ جنگلات کی مسلسل کٹائی بھی ہے۔ فطرتی خوبصورتی کو محفوظ رکھنے کے لیے مل کر اقدامات کرنے کی ضرورت ہے۔
وزیراعلیٰ پنجاب نے کہا کہ ماحولیاتی آلودگی کی وجہ سے کرہ ارض کی 40فیصد سطح ارض انحطاط کا شکار ہے۔ آج نہیں سوچا تو 2050 تک خشک سالی دنیا کی تین چوتھائی آبادی کو شدید متاثر کر سکتی ہے۔ پنجاب حکومت کے مثبت اقدامات ماحولیات کے تحفظ کے عزائم ظاہر کرتے ہیں۔ ہرفرد اپنا کردار ادا کرکے نئی نسل کے ماحولیاتی مستقبل کو یقینی بنا سکتا ہے۔

Ban on the Use of Plastic Bags in Punjab. Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced a ban on the use, production, sale, and trade of plastic in the province starting today.
On World Environment Day Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif stated that environmental pollution is a challenge for the entire world including Pakistan. The global community must work together to control the factors affecting our natural environment. She urged the public to join in the mission to protect the planet.
The Chief Minister highlighted the harmful effects of plastic on the environment and human health. The “No to Plastic” campaign aims to reduce environmental pollution and promote eco friendly practices. The policy banning plastic will be strictly enforced.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif announced that the use of plastic bags will be prohibited in hotels, restaurants, and eateries. Instead eco friendly alternatives like cotton bags should be used. A special awareness campaign will be launched to educate the public about the harmful effects of plastic pollution.
She emphasized the need to reduce fossil fuel use and increase reliance on renewable energy. Continuous deforestation is a significant contributor to the rapid increase in environmental pollution. And collective action is needed to preserve natural beauty.
The Chief Minister noted that 40% of the Earth’s surface is degraded due to environmental pollution. If we do not act now drought could severely affect three quarters of the global population by 2050.
The positive steps taken by the Punjab government reflect their commitment to environmental protection. Every individual can play a role in ensuring a sustainable environmental future for the next generation.
