In the international market the price of iron per ton has fallen to as low as $130. This decrease in price has also affected the local steel. And iron market resulting in a decline of 15,000 rupees per ton.
Traders who invest in expensive iron are now grappling with substantial financial losses. The sudden decline in iron prices driven by international market fluctuations. Led to a decrease of approximately 30,000 rupees per ton in the prices of GP (Galvanized Plain) and CRC (Cold Rolled Coil) steel. This unforeseen drop in prices has created difficulties for traders purchasing expensive iron.
It is important to note that the import of raw iron is crucial for industrial operations. However importers are facing restrictions with LCs (Letter of Credit) not being permitted and a scarcity of dollar availability.
Private banks are currently selling dollars at rates 5 to 7 rupees higher than the interbank exchange rate. As a result of delayed LC opening. Importers are burdened with hefty demurrage charges and port fees. Leading to substantial financial losses.
A sincere appeal has been made to the Federal Finance Minister and the State Bank Governor to address this issue urgently. And take appropriate measures to alleviate the challenges faced by traders.
سریا سستا ہو گیامہنگا لوہا خریدنے والے تاجر وں کو کروڑوں کا نقصان
انٹرنیشنل مارکیٹ میں سریا کی قیمتیں فی ٹن 130 امریکی ڈالر تک گر گئی ہیں. مقامی اسٹیل اور لوہے کی مارکیٹ میں لوہے کی قیمتوں میں کمی ہو گئی ہے مہنگا لوہا خریدنے والے تاجر وں کو کروڑوں کا نقصان ہو گیا۔
انٹرنیشنل مارکیٹ میں سریا کی قیمتوں میں کمی کی وجہ سے مقامی مارکیٹ میں بھی سریے اور لوہے کی قیمتوں میں 15 ہزار روپے فی ٹن کمی ہو گئی۔
آئرن اسٹیل مرچنٹس ایسوسی ایشن کے صدر حماد پونا والا کا کہنا ہے . کہ جی پی اور سی آر سی کی قیمتوں میں تقریبا 30 ہزار روپے فی ٹن کمی واقع ہوئی ہے . جس کی وجہ سے مہنگا لوہا خریدنے والے تاجر لوہے کی قیمتوں میں اچانک کمی کی وجہ سے پریشان ہو گیا۔
ان کا کہنا تھا کہ خام لوہا امپورٹ کیا جاتا ہے جس سے انڈسٹریز چل رہی ہیں امپورٹرز کی ایل سی نہیں کھولی جارہی اور نہ ڈالر فراہم کئے جارہے ہیں۔
حماد پونا والا کے مطابق نجی بینک ڈالرز انٹر بینک کے مقابلے 5 سے 7 روپے اضافی قیمت میں فروخت کر رہے ہیں۔ایل سیز وقت پر نہ کھولنے کی وجہ سے امپورٹرز کو لاکھوں روپے ڈیمریج اور پورٹ چارجز ادا کرنے پڑ رہے ہیں۔ وفاقی وزیر خزانہ اور گورنر اسٹیٹ بینک سے اپیل ہے اس مسئلے کو سنجیدگی سے لیا جائے۔
