غیر ملکی خبررساں ادارے (رائٹرز) کی رپورٹ کے مطابق امریکی قومی مرکز برائے ماحولیات کا کہنا ہے کہ 3 جولائی 2023 (پیر) کو پہلی بار عالمی درجہ حرارت 17 ڈگری سینٹی گریڈ کی حد کو بھی عبور کرگیا جس کی وجہ سے امریکی مرکز نے 3 جولائی کو گرم ترین دن قرار دیا۔
رپورٹ میں بتایا گیا کہ دنیا بھر میں ہونے والی موسمیاتی تبدیلیوں کے باعث 3 جولائی 2023 کو دنیا کا سب سے زیادہ گرم ترین دن کے طور پر ریکارڈ کیا گیا جب کہ اس سے قبل تاریخ کا گرم ترین دن اگست 2016 میں اس وقت قرار دیا تھا جب درجہ حرارت 16.92 سینٹی گریڈ ریکارڈ کیا گیا تھا۔
رپورٹ کے مطابق جنوبی امریکہ حالیہ دنوں میں شدید گرمی کی لپیٹ میں ہے اور چین میں بھی گرمی کی شدید لہر جاری ہے جہاں درجہ حرارت 35 سینٹی گریڈ سے بھی اوپر چلا گیا ہے جب کہ شمالی افریقا میں درجہ حرارت 50 سینٹی گریڈ کی حد کو عبور کرچکا ہے۔
اس حوالے سے امریکی محققین کا کہنا ہے کہ نیا ریکارڈ شدہ درجہ حرارت 19 ویں صدی کے آخر سے لے کر اب تک سب سے زیادہ ہے۔ سائنس دانوں کا ماننا ہے کہ بڑھتے درجہ حرارت کی وجہ کاربن ڈائی آکسائیڈ کا اخراج اور قدرتی موسمیاتی ایونٹ ایل نینو کا مجموعہ ہے

US National Centers for Environmental Information has declared July 3, 2023, as the hottest day in human history. According to a report by the news agency Reuters the US National Centers for Environmental Information stated that on July 3, 2023 (Monday) the global temperature surpassed the threshold of 17 degrees Celsius earning it the title of the hottest day.
The report highlights that due to climate change and global weather patterns July 3, 2023, witnessed record breaking temperatures as the hottest day in the world’s history. Prior to this the previous record was set in August 2016. When the temperature reached 16.92 degrees Celsius.
The report further mentions that Southern America is currently experiencing intense heatwaves. And China is also facing an extreme heatwave with temperatures surpassing 35 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile Northern Africa has already crossed the threshold of 50 degrees Celsius.
Researchers in the United States state that this newly recorded temperature is the highest since the late 19th century. Scientists attribute the rising temperatures to the emission of carbon dioxide and the combination of natural weather events like El Nino.
