Approval for Replacement of Tribunal Judges in Islamabad’s Three Constituencies

Approval for Replacement of Tribunal Judges in Islamabad’s Three Constituencies. The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has approved the replacement of tribunal judges in Islamabad’s three constituencies. This decision follows the approval of requests from PML-N members of the National Assembly Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Anjum Aqeel Khan, and Raja Khurram Nawaz.

Details of the Decision

The ECP announced its reserved decision on June 7, which was made after hearing arguments from all parties involved. The PML-N MNAs had expressed concerns about the existing tribunal leading to a request for changes. This request was heard by a three member commission headed by Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja.

Background of the Request

The request for changing tribunal judges was driven by concerns from the PML-N MNAs regarding the impartiality and effectiveness of the current tribunal. They believed that a new panel of judges would ensure a fairer review of election related issues.

Hearing and Decision

The ECP reserved its decision after completing arguments on Friday. The change was deemed necessary to address the concerns raised by the petitioners and to maintain the integrity of the election process in Islamabad.
