پاکستان فلور ملز ایسوسی ایشن نے ہفتے کو لاہور میں ہنگامی اجلاس طلب کر لیا ہے۔ فلور ملز مالکان نے حکومت سے گندم کی مصنوعات پر ودہولڈنگ ٹیکس واپس لینے کی اپیل کرتے ہوئے حکومت پر واضح کردیا ہے کہ اگر گندم کی مصنوعات پر ودہولڈنگ ٹیکس واپس نہ لیا گیا تو وہ اپنی فلور ملیں بند کرنے سمیت ہڑتال کی کال بھی دے سکتے ہیں۔
پاکستان فورمز ایسوسی ایشن کے چئیرمین چوہدری عامر عبداللہ نے بتایا کہ ودہولڈنگ ٹیکس کے نفاذ سے آٹا، میدہ اور فائن آٹا 7روپے فی کلو مہنگا ہو جائے گا۔ انہوں نے بتایا کہ ودہولڈنگ ٹیکس کے نفاذ کے بعد 10کلوگرام آٹے کے تھیلے کی قیمت میں 106روپے کا اضافہ ہو جائے گا. جبکہ میدہ، فائن آٹا کی قیمتوں میں 460روپے فی بوری کا اضافہ ہوجائے گا۔
انہوں نے بتایا کہ پاکستان میں صرف 2فیصد لوگ ٹیکس دیتے ہیں. جبکہ 98فیصد سیلز ٹیکس سمیت دیگر ٹیکسز غریب عوام سے وصول کیا جارہا ہے۔
انہوں نے بتایا کہ گندم کی مصنوعات فروخت کنندہ ہول سیلر اور ریٹیلر پر ٹیکس کے نفاذ سے ان اشیائے ضروریہ کی قیمتیں بڑھنے سے عوام بری طرح متاثر ہوں گے۔ عامر عبداللہ نے دوٹوک الفاظ میں کہا کہ فلور ملز ود ہولڈنگ ٹیکس جمع کرنے کا کام نہیں کرسکتیں اور نہ ہی فلور ملیں حکومت یا ایف بی آر کا ذیلی ادارے ہیں۔

The Pakistan Flour Mills Association has called an emergency meeting in Lahore on Saturday. The flour mill owners have appealed to the government to withdraw the withholding tax on wheat products clearly stating that if the tax is not withdrawn. They may close their mills and call for a strike.
Chairman of the Pakistan Flour Mills Association Chaudhry Amir Abdullah said that with the implementation of the withholding tax the prices of flour, maida (fine flour) and fine flour will increase by 7 rupees per kilogram. He mentioned that after the tax is implemented the price of a 10-kilogram bag of flour will increase by 106 rupees. And the prices of maida and fine flour will increase by 460 rupees per sack.
He also pointed out that only 2% of people in Pakistan pay taxes. While 98% of sales tax and other taxes are collected from the poor public.
He explained that the implementation of the tax on wholesale and retail sellers of wheat products will significantly impact the public due to the increase in prices of these essential items. Amir Abdullah stated unequivocally that flour mills cannot collect withholding tax. And they are not a subsidiary of the government or the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).
